Classification of self-cleaning glass:
There are currently two types on the market:
The main component is silicone,Coating on the surface of glass gives a slippery feeling, but it does not interact with the silica molecules on the material surface to form a strong nano film. Instead, it only fills in the uneven surface of the material that we cannot see with the naked eye, making the material surface smooth and uniform.
Its advantage is that it has a strong repulsive effect on water (but not oil).
The disadvantage is poor adhesion, and in a short period of time (6-12 months), its water repellent properties will significantly decrease.
2A: The main component is titanium dioxide (TiO2). After coating a layer of titanium dioxide film on glass, titanium dioxide exhibits super hydrophilicity due to its excellent photocatalytic properties under the action of ultraviolet light. By utilizing this superhydrophilic property, it causes small water droplets to converge into large ones, which fall off under the action of gravity, making it easy for stains to be washed away by water and giving the glass an easy to clean property. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for outdoor building glass.
Its advantage is that it is cheap.
its disadvantage is that it requires UV irradiation and its adhesion is also poor.
2B: The main component is inorganic nano silicon material, which is characterized by a super hydrophilic coating on the surface and good dust resistance. It does not rely on sunlight and works in a completely dark environment. It is an upgraded version of titanium dioxide products.
