Hard Coated Lowe Glass & Soft Coated Lowe Glass Production Method

Glass with quartz sand, soda ash, feldspar and limestone as raw materials, after mixing, high temperature melting, homogenization, processing and forming, and then annealing and obtained. Widely used in construction, daily use, art, meters and other fields, rich variety, superior performance. In addition to making a variety of glass doors and Windows, we often make it into a variety of lenses, decoration and so on. To find out the difference between Soft Coated Lowe Glass and Hard Coated Lowe glass, as well as the production method of Low-E glass, see below.

Hard Coated  means that the film is already coated when making float glass.

Soft Coated is coated after the float glass and tempered glass are produced.

Generally, the adhesion between the film and the glass of Soft Coated coating is not very strong, and the film needs to be removed for the safety of glass performance when making insulating glass.

Generally, the film surface of Soft Coated coating is very fragile and cannot be tempered.

However, the offline processing equipment is simple, does not require huge equipment support, and the color system is rich, and the online color is relatively single. Color is not good, sometimes two batches of glass transmittance difference of 15 degrees.

Hard Coated Lowe Glass & Soft Coated Lowe Glass Production Method

There are two production methods for Low-E glass:

1. Online Pyrolytic deposition method:

These products are made during the float glass cooling process. Liquid metal or metal powder is sprayed directly onto the surface of the hot glass, and as the glass cools, the metal film layer becomes part of the glass. As a result, the film is hard and durable. The Low-E glass produced by this method has many advantages: it can be hot bent, tempered, does not have to be used in a hollow state, and can be stored for a long time. Its disadvantage is that the thermal performance is relatively poor. Unless the film layer is very thick, its u value is only half of the Low-E coating glass by sputtering method. If you want to improve its thermal properties by increasing the thickness of the film, its transparency is very poor.

2. Soft Coated vacuum sputtering method:

The production of Low-E glass by sputtering process requires a layer of pure silver film as a functional film. The sterling silver film is between two layers of metal oxide film. The metal oxide film provides protection to the sterling silver film, and acts as an intermediate layer between the film layers to increase the color purity and light transmission. Unlike pyrolytic deposition, the sputtering process is Soft Coated. According to the different transmission position of the glass, there are horizontal and vertical points.

In the vertical production process, glass is placed vertically on a shelf and fed into a large vacuum chamber. The pressure in the vacuum chamber will be reduced. The vertically mounted cathodes sputter metal atoms and deposit them onto the glass substrate to form a film layer. In order to form a uniform film layer, the Yin moves back and forth closer to the glass surface than the target. To get a multilayer film. Multiple shades must be used, and each shade moves back and forth on the glass surface to form a certain film thickness.

The horizontal method is largely similar to the vertical method. The main difference is in the placement of the glass, the glass is transmitted by horizontal wheels, through the Yin, the glass through a series of pin valves, the vacuum also changes. When the glass reaches the main sputtering chamber, the coating pressure is reached, the metal negative is fixed relative to the target, and the glass moves. In the process of glass passing through the Yin, the film is formed.

Coating is a very thin transparent film coated on a surface. When light enters different transfer materials (such as glass by air), about 5% will be reflected, and there are many lenses and refractors in the optical scope, the whole can add up to 30% to 40% of the incident light loss. Modern optical lenses are usually coated with a single or multiple layers of magnesium fluoride anti-reflection film, single-layer anti-reflection film can reduce the reflection to 1.5%, multi-layer anti-reflection film can reduce the reflection to 0.25%, so if the entire scope is properly coated, the light penetration rate can reach 95%. Lenses coated with a single layer of anti-reflection film are usually blue-purple or red, and lenses coated with multiple layers of anti-reflection film are pale green or dark purple.

Glass is an amorphous inorganic nonmetallic material, which is generally made of a variety of inorganic minerals (such as quartz sand, borax, boric acid, barite, barium carbonate, limestone, feldspar, soda ash, etc.) as the main raw materials, and a small amount of auxiliary raw materials are added. Its main components are silica and other oxides. The chemical composition of ordinary glass is Na2SiO3, CaSiO3, SiO2 or Na2O·CaO·6SiO2, etc. The main component is silicate double salt, which is an amorphous solid with an irregular structure. Widely used in buildings, used to isolate the wind and light, belongs to the mixture. Another mixed with some metal oxides or salts to show the color of colored glass, and through the physical or chemical method of toughened glass and so on. Sometimes some transparent plastics (such as polymethyl methacrylate) are also called agricultural production system glass.
